To analyze the financial implications of bids, negotiate contracts, and develop cost-effective sourcing strategies within budgetary guidelines. Manage the contracts and commercial functions to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing in accordance with specifications. This role works under the Contracts and Procurement Department as the head.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop annual departmental plans and budgets aligned with company strategy.
- Set and manage individual staff objectives and assess performance.
- Review and improve division procedures and processes.
- Ensure adherence to contracts and purchase regulations.
- Build and maintain strong networks with suppliers and contractors.
- Prepare and present reports on departmental activities and progress.
- Guide and support department staff.
- Supervise cost control activities.
- Handle contracting from proposal preparation to contract close-out.
- Ensure competitive pricing and compliance with specifications.
- Act as coordinator for tenders and bid transactions.
- Develop and implement contracts and purchasing strategies.
- Identify and evaluate vendors, negotiate terms, and ensure quality.
- Establish control frameworks for procurement activities.
- Liaise with finance for timely vendor payments.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting procurement.
Requisite Qualifications:Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of regional and international procurement practices.
- Expertise in supply chain management, contract management, logistics, and inventory control.
- Strong customer focus, flexibility, innovative thinking, collaboration, communication, integrity, people management, and problem-solving skills.
