Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed cost estimates for tenders and project bids
* Analyse project specifications, drawings, and schedules to determine material and labour requirements
* Conduct market research to create data on material and labour costs
* Estimate unit rates including materials, equipment, labour, overheads, and profit margins
* Prepare cost breakdowns and summaries for clients and project managers
* Identify and manage project risks and contingencies
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost estimates
* Stay abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements in cost estimation

Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimation for civil and architectural projects
* Strong understanding of cost estimation principles, tools, and techniques
* Proficient in using cost estimation software (e.g., Candy CCS)
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
