Technical Office Engineer & Quantity Surveyor - Future Concept
The Technical Office Engineer & Quantity Surveyor plays a key role in supporting the execution phase of construction projects by preparing detailed technical documentation, reviewing shop and coordination drawings, and performing accurate quantity take-offs. The position ensures compliance with design intent, technical specifications, and local codes, contributing to efficient project delivery across all disciplines—civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and update shop drawings and coordination drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring alignment with design drawings and approved specifications.
- Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs for all trades based on construction drawings and site conditions.
- Prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for procurement and project execution.
- Generate monthly interim payment certificates for projects, and validate subcontractors’ and suppliers’ invoices in line with site progress.
- Track and document variation orders, updating quantities and scope changes accordingly using Excel, PDF Annotator, and/or Bluebeam.
- Support the procurement process by preparing material requests and procurement packages with full technical alignment.
- Coordinate closely with procurement and planning teams to ensure consistency between technical submittals and project timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and records for audits, invoicing, and project controls.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (required).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Working knowledge of Revit or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Saudi Building Code and government technical specifications.
- Experience with documentation tools such as PDF Annotator and Bluebeam is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in Technical Office and Quantity Surveying roles.
- Experience working on medium to large-scale construction projects in the Gulf region is an advantage.
