Job Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a major organisation for an experienced and strategic General Manager (Logistics & Supply Chain) to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a Full-Time leadership position, responsible for the entire scope of our client's supply chain and logistics operations. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, develop long-term strategy, and lead a dedicated team to achieve key business objectives. This role is critical for ensuring the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and resilience of the company's supply chain network.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall logistics and supply chain strategy, ensuring it is aligned with the organisation's commercial goals.
- Direct and manage all end-to-end logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and distribution.
- Lead, mentor, and empower the logistics team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee departmental budgets, manage operational costs, and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with key suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
- Analyse performance metrics and data to identify bottlenecks and implement robust process improvements across the supply chain.
- Ensure all operations adhere to local and international trade laws, customs regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with other senior management and departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated operational workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of success in a senior leadership role within logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a relevant field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CILT, CIPS) is highly advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain principles, including demand planning, inventory control, and transport management.
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrable experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a large, diverse team.
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in the Saudi Arabian or wider GCC market is strongly preferred.
