Job Summary
 

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial, retail, industrial, or residential environments while ensuring compliance with UK electrical regulations and safety standards.
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and breakdowns.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Test and certify electrical installations where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
     

Required Qualifications
 

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on electrical installation or maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and technical schematics.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
     

Preferred Certifications
 

  • JIB Gold Card (Highly Preferred)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • ECS Card
  • Inspection & Testing Qualification (2391 or equivalent)

  • Experience limited to general maintenance without electrical responsibilities.
     

Ideal Candidate
 

Qualified Electrician with an 18th Edition certification, JIB Gold Card, and proven experience in commercial, retail, or industrial electrical maintenance and installation.
