DTE Energy Co is seeking a meticulous and insightful Data Analyst to join our team. This is a full-time, remote position with a competitive hourly rate of $20 - $35 USD.
As a Detroit-based diversified energy company, DTE Energy is involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. This role is essential to our mission, as you will be responsible for analysing complex data sets to extract valuable business insights, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making across our organisation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for turning data into actionable intelligence.
Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst, your primary duties will include:
* Acquiring and interpreting data from various primary and secondary sources.
* Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality.
* Identifying, analysing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets to provide actionable insights.
* Cleaning and filtering data to ensure accuracy and integrity before analysis.
* Creating data visualisations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings clearly to management and key stakeholders.
* Collaborating with different departments to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical support.
* Working with management to prioritise business and information needs based on data-driven evidence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Proven experience working as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficiency in writing and executing complex SQL queries.
* Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences.
* A degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Statistics is preferred.
* Familiarity with the energy sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
