Helping Hands Hale is a community nonprofit dedicated to providing food assistance, housing support, and family services to neighbors in need across Hale County and surrounding areas. Our mission is simple: lend a hand, restore hope, and build stronger families.
Role Overview
The Data Entry Clerk is the backbone of our programs. You’ll help us track client services, donations, and volunteer hours so we can serve more people and meet grant reporting requirements. Accuracy and compassion matter here — every record represents a family we’re helping.
Key Responsibilities
- Client & Program Data Entry: Enter client intake forms, service requests, food pantry visits, and case notes into our database with 98%+ accuracy
- Donation & Volunteer Tracking: Log donations, inventory, and volunteer hours for reporting to donors and grant agencies
- Records Management: Scan, file, and organize paper and electronic documents. Maintain confidential client files
- Reporting Support: Run weekly/monthly reports for program managers and funders. Identify and correct data discrepancies
- Front Desk Support: Assist with phone calls and walk-ins as needed. Provide warm, respectful service to clients
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED required
- Experience: 6+ months data entry, admin, or nonprofit experience preferred
- Skills: 45+ WPM typing, strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and databases/CRM. Training provided on our system
- Traits: Organized, discreet, and empathetic. Ability to handle sensitive client information with confidentiality
- Other: Must pass background check. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
