About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Specialist with a strong legal background to manage and strengthen our HR operations, employee relations, recruitment processes, and employment-related compliance.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can independently manage day-to-day HR matters while ensuring that company policies, employment contracts, personnel procedures, and employee-related decisions comply with applicable Egyptian labor laws and regulations.
A legal background is a mandatory requirement for this position. Candidates without relevant legal education or substantial professional experience in labor/employment law will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources & Personnel
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employment documentation, contract renewals, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, and offboarding.
- Prepare, review, and maintain employment contracts, amendments, HR letters, confidentiality agreements, acknowledgements, and other employee-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate and complete personnel files and employee records.
- Develop, implement, and periodically review HR policies and internal procedures.
- Monitor attendance, leave, probation periods, contract expiry dates, and other employee-related deadlines.
- Support payroll preparation by ensuring accurate employee, attendance, leave, and compensation information.
- Coordinate employee performance evaluation and probation review processes.
- Handle employee grievances, workplace issues, and disciplinary matters professionally and confidentially.
- Advise management on HR procedures and employee relations matters.
Labor Law & Legal Compliance
- Ensure HR practices and documentation comply with Egyptian Labor Law and applicable employment regulations.
- Advise management on the legal implications of employment-related decisions.
- Review employment contracts, policies, disciplinary procedures, termination procedures, and employee documentation from a legal and compliance perspective.
- Manage legally compliant procedures relating to warnings, investigations, disciplinary actions, resignations, and termination of employment.
- Keep the company informed of changes to Egyptian labor and employment legislation and recommend necessary updates to policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel when specialized employment-law advice or representation is required.
- Support compliance with social insurance, labor office, and other employment-related governmental requirements.
- Maintain appropriate documentation to minimize employment-related legal and regulatory risks.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage recruitment processes for technical, administrative, and business positions.
- Draft and publish job advertisements and screening criteria.
- Screen CVs and conduct initial HR interviews.
- Coordinate technical assessments and interviews with hiring managers.
- Conduct reference and background checks where appropriate.
- Prepare employment offers and coordinate contract execution and onboarding.
- Maintain recruitment records and candidate pipelines using the company's HR/recruitment systems.
- Support workforce planning and recruitment forecasting with management.
HR Operations & Development
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate HR processes.
- Maintain HR data and generate periodic reports on recruitment, headcount, turnover, attendance, leave, and other HR metrics.
- Support the development of compensation structures, job descriptions, organizational charts, and career frameworks.
- Assist management in developing employee retention, engagement, and professional development initiatives.
- Ensure HR processes are consistently applied across the organization.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a closely related field, OR demonstrable professional specialization in Egyptian labor and employment law.
- Strong working knowledge of Egyptian Labor Law and employment regulations.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in HR, personnel, employee relations, or a closely related function.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing employment contracts and HR-related legal documentation.
- Practical experience handling employee relations, disciplinary procedures, resignations, and terminations.
- Experience with recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Strong understanding of personnel administration, social insurance, and labor-office requirements in Egypt.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of HR matters from initiation through completion.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with HR management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Law degree with professional HR experience.
- HR certification such as SHRM, HRCI, CIPD, or equivalent.
- Experience working in a technology, software, engineering, consulting, or professional-services company.
- Experience with Odoo HR and Recruitment or similar ERP/HRIS platforms.
- Experience developing HR policies and internal regulations.
- Experience supporting rapidly growing organizations and building HR processes from the ground up.
