Studio Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Studio Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, workflow, resourcing, and delivery of projects within our Department.
The Studio Manager will ensure that projects are managed efficiently from initial briefing through to final delivery. The role requires strong project management, resource planning, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, teams, stakeholders, freelancers, and vendors simultaneously.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, decisive, people-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day workflow and operations of the creative studio.
Review and filter project briefs to ensure they are clear, complete, and ready for production.
Manage creative projects from initial concept and briefing through to final completion.
Establish and monitor project timelines, deadlines, priorities, and deliverables.
Allocate internal team members, freelancers, and external resources based on project requirements.
Monitor team workload, utilisation, attendance, and project progress.
Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
Coordinate closely with Creative, Account Management, Marketing, Production, Finance, and other relevant departments.
Ensure clear and timely communication of project briefs, timelines, changes, feedback, and expectations.
Coordinate with clients and/or account teams regarding project requirements, timelines, progress, and feedback.
Manage freelancers, vendors, and third-party production partners when required.
Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
Maintain organised digital assets, project files, and relevant documentation.
Ensure projects are delivered on time while maintaining appropriate quality standards.
Provide regular reports and updates to management on project progress, resource requirements, risks, and studio performance.
Develop and improve studio processes, workflows, and working practices.
Support team development, mentoring, performance management, and a positive working environment.
Assist with creative production activities when required and when operational priorities allow.
Handle project-related issues and conflicts in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
Ensure effective coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Media Production, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Film & Television, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in Studio Management, Creative Project Management, Agency Operations, or a similar role.
Strong understanding of creative production processes and project workflows.
Good understanding of print and digital specifications and production processes.
Experience with creative/design software and digital file management systems.
Strong project management, organization, and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
Experience coordinating internal teams, freelancers, vendors, and external partners.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Good understanding of project budgets and cost control.
Ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
High level of initiative, accountability, integrity, and professionalism.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experience in team training and development is an advantage.
Working Environment
This is a fast-paced creative environment where multiple projects may run simultaneously. The role requires flexibility and may occasionally involve extended working hours, evenings, or weekends to meet critical project deadlines, campaign launches, or pitch requirements.
